Stunning
Title: Stunning
Fandom: The Velvet Key
Character(s): Ingrid, Saori
Pairing(s): None
Genre: Fluff
Prompt: Flower
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: A surrogate mother and a surrogate daughter and a time special to both.
She tucked the flower into the younger woman’s hair, smoothing fingertips over a powdered cheek with a gentle smile. Ingrid looked up into the mirror, catching brown eyes as they shone. Her heart warmed at the happiness she found there and she clicked her tongue with satisfaction.
“You look absolutely stunning, my dear.” She announced, tone colored by her affection. The girl blushed and stood suddenly, turning to face the wrinkled, gray woman who had been making over her the last few hours.
“Thank you.” Saori said, honest and overjoyed and glowing despite the awful floursent lighting. Ingrid shushed her, patting her shoulder with care. “I mean it, for everything.”
“Oh, child.” Sighed out the elder, chest tightening in a way it hadn’t since her first daughter’s wedding. She reached out to hug the woman, clasping the thin frame to her bosom with care not to muss the work of art she had spent so long slaving over. “All the thanks I need is knowing you’re making yourself happy.”
