He was mad and she knew it. She watched the craze crawl over his skin and work its way into his bones, ensnaring his soul and shaking the sanity from him with a grace she had never seen. It was horrible and frightful and it intoxicated her so violently that she believed her heart would cease to work and her mind would never clear. It was all the things a good woman should fear and it burned her skin until the sickness filled her veins and she knew she was mad too.
