Title: Iron Flower

Summary: Sanaki has the responsibility to greet her duke.
Notes: I like writing for hypothetical castmates.
When Sanaki finds the duke, it's near the shore. Lekain looks over at her at her approach. "Empress Sanaki."
"Duke Gaddos." She stops two arm's lengths away. "Have you forgotten already to kneel at the appearance of the apostle?"
He chuckles. She was beginning to forget the sound, and is not pleased at being reminded. "Of course, forgive me," he answers, now kneeling before her tiny frame.
"The situation is unexpected - you can be forgiven for your minor lapse of memory. Rise."
He stands, towering over her again. Something is even more stiff in his movements than normal, even more telling. He has always hated having to listen to her; he can no more hide his greed for power with pretty words than she can hide her youth with fancy dress. "Empress, please allow my sincere apologies that you have been so long without protection here alone."
"Is that what you believe?" She shakes her head. "As long as I retain the dignity and strength of the empress of Begnion, I shall always have at least one loyal knight by my side."
Setanta is a presence in the back of her mind. Though no one else is in sight on the beach but her and this man who has always envied her station, she is not alone. She will never be alone.
Sanaki smiles just slightly. "I have much to say to you. Come."
