"If it's not any problem, could I stay after school for a short period? I'm having trouble with a series of questions in the textbook, and I think I almost have them, but just in case I'd like to be able to ask you for help."
"Of course, dear. I have longer hours for that very reason." Ingrid smiled as Issei visibly relaxed. Far too few students took advantage of the resources available to them, and just dismissed their studies as hopeless.
While Issei started to work intently on his questions, possibly questions that hadn't been assigned to the class, Ingrid focused on planning out her lessons for the next week. She checked back to look at him every so often, but each time he was hard at work until the time she glanced over and his head was on the desk.
Tsking, she came over to confirm that he was indeed drifting off. "Issei."
"I almost have it..." Issei mumbled into his textbook. "I'll be gone soon..."
"Young man, how many nights do you go out to patrol?" she asked.
"...All of them?" he guessed.
Headshake. "And how many classes are you doing extra work in?"
"All... of them?" He lifted his head to look at her blearily. "This conversation is going to involve not pushing myself so hard, isn't it."
"Of course it is. I have thirty more minutes to help my students before the faculty has a meeting, so make yourself comfortable."
