Summary: "Praising what its lost makes the remembrance dear."

It was well known among the people of the theater, now owned by the famous playwright, that he favored a certain woman from the rest. Though for him, there was no need to hide that he did enjoy spending his free time with her, and she didn't seem to have any complains about it. The more time passed, the more they were pleased with the company of the other.

First was business, then was something else. The nostalgic feeling of his days as the playwright in England were always present around her. At the beginning he didn't mind it, but his curiosity increased the more he talked with her. Francis Drake was a mysterious woman, and she soon figured out that he was a dangerous man as well. After all, William Shakespeare was known for many incredible things beside his writings.

And she knew them very well.

The touch in her shoulders were gracious, the face of the famous pirate close to him. The air was filled with many emotions, yet words and names were spoken without problem. Close, in more than words could describe, yet feelings wanted to express each other. No weakness were allowed for neither of them so the first one to succumb to them would end losing.

It wasn't a game, but secrets were common to possess between them. The truth was fragile and variable, the message for the stage leaving the free interpretation for the audience. The playwright did not hesitate and neither did the woman. There was no need to speak things that were known in the shadows of the stage for both of them.

"Francis..." William spoke calmly, offer her his hand to hold tightly in that moment. Her eyes were almost closed but she looked at him anyway. "No other women interests me in the way you do." His confession was sincere as his gaze looked at her, the grip of his hand strengthening a bit after that.

"Oh, no other?" Her reply was a teasing one, though she had to make a pause before continuing. "Flatterer." One word was all she needed after all, why she would speak more than that? Her voice was cheerful, perhaps hiding something in those words.

Shakespeare chuckled before talking again. "I do wonder..." He begun, taking a moment to think and breath. "How long has it been since I was in your grace...?" The question was thrown in the air as he pressed his lips against hers. She could protest, and Hell, she sometimes feels like punching him for being like that.

In the end, she finds it entertaining. Breaking apart, she smirked at him. "Who knows, William." Three words as all she needed to say. Though neither of them could complain in the end.

After all, only behind the scenes the writer and owner of the Stage could enjoy time with the Queen he once devoted his inspiration and talent to, and she could allow him to treat her as the figure she once was but would never be again.
